PAYM Convention 2006

It was a collaboration with RPF for the event, a Musical for PAYM 35 years Anniversary.

Representing DASH, Rafidah & Rain got together with Isham, Ina, Faridah & Joe. What's suppose to be a a small scene showcasing our dance ended up being part of the main cast of actors from VM&SD. The whole week of rehearsing was a blast.

Beside the actors and ourselves, the musical had other young performers from different CCs and schools. The Percussionists & The Breakers were both from Republic Polytechnic. While the Yo-Yo Crew, the Dikir Barat, the Clarinets' & a Chinese Hip-Hop Crew were from their respective CCs representive.

This is the first time DASH collaborated with RPF but it won't be the last. We look forward on our upcoming shows together.

December Highlights

December's here and our schedule is packed with a couple of shows and competition.

Coming up this Saturday, 2nd December, PAYM Convention 2006 - It's All About Youths! The PAYM (People Association Youth Movement) Convention hails as a significant milestone in the PAYM's 35 years of history and functions as a platform for all PAYM members to congregate, discuss and develop the strategic blueprints for the PAYM to embrace in the near future.

Followed by a Countdown Show at Boon Lay. Nothing much to talk about here as it's obvious, it's a Countdown Show.

Finally the competition we're referring is the Monkey Business Hip-Hop Dance Competition, happening on the 9th of December, at SAFRA Toa Payoh.

Da Show Case II @ Woodlands CC

It was almost full strength when we join Da Show Case II. Held at Woodlands CC and organised by De Jah Voo Productions. We were all dress in Pink and Black, that was our theme.

It took up the whole Saturday and by evening everyone was shag. Glad we made it to the final round, even though we didn't get a top 3 placing. The photos are up at DASH Shots. Link is by the side.

ASPIRE!

Had a show this evening. Organised by Awakening Productions, Project Green Grass ASPIRE! was held at D'Marque, Downtown East. There were also dance performances from the crew from O School who did the opening act and Reyes Del Flow after the awards. We ended the event with a closing performance which was a blast.

Bad news was no one brought a camera for the event. Now waiting for the organisers to email s the pics they took of us at the after show reception. Also hoping for the numerous group photos we took with Reyes Del Flow. Yep we made new friends at the event. Cool & young crew i must say. This is the 2nd time we had an event with them. The 1st was at Hip Hop Fiesta which was organised by 4PM. Well who knows we might see you guys again...

Hip Hop Fiesta

Hip Hop Fiesta is a project by 4PM,under its P2R & YIA+ programme (Projek Rentak Remaja & Youth in Action Plus). The kids performing and taking part in the fiesta are part of our mentoring programme. The secondary school students taking part in the mentoring programme, namely - Bedok South Sec, Changkat Changi Sec, Hillgrove Sec, Pasir Ris Sec, Siglap Sec, First Toa Payoh Sec, Juying Sec & Telok Kurau Sec.

They have no prior experience in hiphop dancing, graffiti art & lyrics writing. Thanks to the Hip Hop Clinics that they attended to prepare them for this, some of them took up the challenge to present their new found, polished talent, and have agreed to showcase it during the fiesta. Chanelling their effort, energy for this positive outcome goes with the fiesta's slogan of

"Live Your Dreams - Stay Off Da Streets, Get On Wif Da Beat"

There will also be special performances by WarDawg Cartel, the crew that performed during the Black Eyed Peas concert, along with Reyes Del Flow and DASH. Host of Suria's show Biznes, Syed Faisal, will also be one of the emcees for the event. There will be goodie bags up for grabs all for a good cause!

Carnival Dance Mania

Congrats to RAGE, who beg the 2nd prize award from today's competition. Held at Bukit Panjang CC, Carnival @ Dance Mania. Who's Rage, you might asked. Well it's actually a collabo with us DASH & a member from another group, SHAKTI. Also we were pleased to have one of our crew member back, Rina, for this competition.

SAF S&T Formation Anniversay '06

SAF S&T Formation Anniversay '06 was held at Home Team NS, Bukit Batok. The show was awesome and the crowd were great. Had 2 slots for the event. The pictures would be up soon. Aight.

Updates

Been busy since the last update. Anyway the Levi's Competition was so much different from other competitions. The groups were in order alphabetically. So we were group 9 out of 70 over groups. I can't imagine the judges had to sit for all the groups. Must be a tiring day for them. Anyway we didn't made it through the next round but nevertherless we had fun. Our costumes were somehow different from the past few ones we had. Thanks to Azrin, our costume designer.

Right now we're back to training for an upcoming perfromance in May. So busy busy busy...

Oh by the way, photos is still in the process. We will post the photos we took at the Competition and ealier before when we performed for Temasek Polytechnic Dinner & Dance.

Group Preparations

Our upcoming show is cancelled so we would just prepare ourselves for other upcoming ones. So far we have just one project coming up but is still kept a secret until it really does happen. Already it's February and before you know the year would be an end.

By the way, a reminder for those Fusion X supporters, we are still here with a new name. DASH.

A New Life

A meeting was held earlier today with most of the crews at Plaza Singapura. Much have said with the hits & misses in the year 2005. It also marks a new beginning for the group.

As most of you all know that DASH started way back in 2003 under the guidance of Isham, JC Footnotez. Back then, we were formerly known as Fusion X. We had our name change last year.

Now as the New Year has arrived, DASH is solely independant, our mentor, Isham will be steppind down as of today. He is still part of us and always will be, guess without him this group won't have started. Fear not, DASH would still be here but most probably not in competition yet. Most of us has a career and we would concentrate more on performing then competiting.

So far, our schedule has been planned till March this year. We will try to keep this page updated for all the supporters of DASH.

Christmas Show

Well Christmas time is here again. As always like previous years, DASH will performed for a Christmas event. The Christmas Tree Celebration was held at Orchard Park last year & the year before. For those who had seen us before, we were known as Fusion X. Now in it's 3rd year, they had moved to the heartlands, here in Tampines. The venue has change but not us. Ok just our names. Other than that, expect us to be there on the 17th of December, around 2000hrs.

The show went well, the place was grand even though it was held at Bedok CC. The bride & groom was fabolous. We had 2 slots actually, but due to some backstage problems, we only did one slot.

Attention...

Lately we received comments form anonymous people in the web about our dance crew, D.A.S.H. From the good ones to all the bad ones. Why is there such hatred and jealousy around.

Let's make it clear to all out there, D.A.S.H, formerly known as Fusion X (FX), is one unique group. We just not like other dance crew though we might have a few same thread as others. Our style are different but have change over the years. We are so laid back, even at times we just don't really mix with others that much but that doesn't mean we hate them. We just do our thing and go.

We don't beg for popularity, it was given. It was a surprise that we won the REMIX! competition, but it was mere luck and hard work from the group. From the best dancers to the not so best dancer. Our team might be falling apart but we are still there together as close friends supporting one another.

We had won numerous competition before, but it was so long ago and it was this competition that it brought back the group spirits alive again. So you guys are jealous for we have won, well thank you. Didn't know we could make others jealous for our win.

To end this, i would like to say, to those who have supported us from the beginning, a big THANK YOU. We really appreciate your support and would thrive harder. Yet for those who just hate us, for no apparent reason, i want to say, we didn't bother you so don't bother us. You do your thing, we do ours. To note, We don't rock the dance scene as others you''ll know, so go hate someone else.

World Cyber Games

The event was held dis evening at Suntec City Exhibition Hall 401. We performed at 1830hrs. Had a different style. Not the uniformed costumes anymore. Our piece was a short one actually. But hmmm... It was a last minute thingy.

Learning Vision Group D&D

Held at the Regeant Hotel, D.A.S.H made a short & sweet performance. The atmosphere was so cool. Everyone was in their formal wear, we just felt like joining in the dress up. Hahaha...

Our slot was the 1st to start the evening, and we had cheers from the start.

The only sad back was we miss our mates at the Suntec Dance Heats. Yes Jup, Amin & Zuhri participate the competition together with other bunch of guys from different crews. You could say it was a join collaboration. But we heard they were good. Damn we missed it, but we wish all the best. Hope to see you guys in the finals.

SAF Dinner & Dance

Some of the crew members performed in this event. It was happening in some ways. The crowd were good but mostly to the gals in our crew. Well what do u expect , majority are guys from SAF. It was a last minute thing but we manage not to turn it down.

Our team weren't prepared for the event which we were invited to perform. It's because we were busy with the RE:MIX! Competition & due to work commitment, we had to turn it down.

Kampung Ubi CC National Day Dinner

Held yesterday, 6th August 2005, outside Eunos MRT Station.

The show didn't turn out well. We were so ready to get on stage but a last minute cockiness made us stayed backstage. The organisers were friendly bunch of people yet when they organised this, i must say they weren't good at it. We were delayed, for almost 2 hours, to perform at the very last minute. A few of us were feeling sleepy and actually dozed off while waiting. But glad it was over.

A New Beginning

The results were out. At 1st place, D-A-S-H. Shocked & stunned up on the stage. The unexpected victory. Never did we realize that the last minute choreography, last minute costume got us to this.

It was also a new beginning to the group. Our style and our name had a change after 2 years together. We were known by many as Fusion X, having our own uniqueness but the name was a common thingy that upcoming groups were seen using it. It was when we went in the RE:MiX! Dance Competition that we had a name change. D.A.S.H (short for Dancers And Sizzling Hoppers) was the new us. With that, we even had a change in our costumes. From plain white or black, we are now playing with all sort of colours and style. Young and venturous, we hope this new beginning would motivate us to do much better.

Lastly, we would like to thank everyone for helping us in making this dream come true. Also to the organizers and to all the finalist, you were all great. The best & toughest competition we had so far.
